Reborn Baby Doll Bottles - Can I Fix a Leak in My Bottle?
Most of the reborn baby doll bottles are handmade and not made by machine. As a result, overtime and /or definitely with abuse or misuse, the bottles might leak.
The reborn doll bottles can be made in many ways but the majority of bottles are sealed with some type of super glue. We have tested many over a period of months and the bottles will remain sealed even if you try to force them open with normal force. However, with that being said, if you force them hard enough or have someone who is fairly strong try to twist off the top, it can happen. The only time you will want that to happen is if your bottle starts to leak around the nipple near the rim or from the nipple hole itself.

Most reborn baby bottle makers seal both the tip of the nipple with a waterproof silicone and also seal again around the rim. Some of the bottle makers will also block the liquid from going into the nipple completely by using the stoppers that come with the bottles or some other type of barrier that keeps the liquid out. These are the safest types of bottles to have, but some leakage could still occur if the glue expands and pushes the barriers out of the way. It is very unlikely that this would happen though.
If your bottle should start to leak, try to pry the lid off by twisting it gently several times. Eventually the glue should crack that is on the threads inside the bottle allowing you to open it. If that doesn't work, you can always cut the nipple off and make a fake bottle by resealing where it is leaking. There are bottle makers who don't even use a nipple. They invert it inside the bottle and when you place the bottle up to the reborn baby doll's mouth, it still looks real enough.
To prevent leaks, try not to drop your bottle and definitely do not give the bottle to a child to use. The glues that are used to make the bottles are toxic and most babies or toddlers, especially, love to put things in their mouths. The toxins from the glues could get into your baby's system. That is why reborn doll items are sold for adults as props. Responsible adults know how to use the bottles carefully and most just use them for display. With normal use, there is no reason for the bottles to leak.
